Tasar Slk Saree (Kalamkari)
The Saree that you on the right side is made up of Tasar Silk. The art work that you see here in the picture is known as Kalamkari. Kalamkari painting work is an ancient painting art form. The specialty of Kalamkari painiting is that it involves traditional pen-work which can be handled only by a professional Kalamkari expert. The pen used for the purpose is made up of bamboo or palm sticks and on the tip you can see bunch of fine hair tied together for the purpose of painting.

Only organic colors are used for Kalamkari paintings and so, initially this work was carried out only on cotton fabric. The team of Karukarya carries out Kalamkari work on Tasar silk. A lot of effort and planning goes into selecting the right fabric, color combination and design.

The Saree that you see in this picture has Kalamkari work done on two contrasting color which makes it absolutely unique and  gives the saree a very royal look.

The specialty of Karukarya is that you will not see repetition of designs. If you purchase a saree from Karukarya be assured that you would be the only one in the whole world to own that kind of saree. Below, You can see another amazing  Kalamkari work on Tasar Silk by the Karukarya team.
